A Lesson in Layering!

Good Morning Everyone!

We hope you had a chance to catch us this morning on Channel 9!  But if you missed it, don't fret!  We've provided all the great tips and tricks we discussed in today's segment here!  Get inspired! Get to layering!!

DO

• DO consider pieces from your ENTIRE wardrobe! Incorporating a summer dress into your winter outfit makes layering a breeze!
• DO mix different textures.  Half the fun of winter is being able to wear chunky knits, soft faux furs and rich prints.
• DO wear different lengths.  A long tunic over leggings with a crop sweater creates the distinct visual appeal that layering is known for.

DON'T

• DON'T go overboard.  Without considering the outerwear coat, you'd be pushing it if you wore over 3 layers on top.  That makes the outfit look bulky and less effortless.
• An all-fitted or all-loose look DOESN'T work.  To keep the look polished, tights or skinny jeans are a great base.  Add a sweater and blazer over to complete it.  Loose-fitting jeans out make the outfit look overall messy.  
• DON'T over load the color scheme.  It is easy to get carried away with a fun piece that has multiple colors.  However, sticking with a mostly neutral color scheme is much more effortless and do-able for day-to-day.
