SNOW DAY OUT

IT'S FREEZING! I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR. EVERYTHING LOOKS COLD. I WANT TO TAKE THESE HEELS OFF. WHAT WILL SHE BE WEARING? I HAVE TO WORK LATE.  IS HE GOING TO BE THERE? MY FEET HURT. 

Do any of these excuses sound familiar? We tend to draw out our “PASS” cards for after-work events or unexpected weather conditions. The warmth of our cozy abodes always sound so much better than putting forth the effort of going out after a days work or endless errands. Totally understandable but completely undeserving—you owe your hard-working self a hefty amount of fun! Don’t let style challenges be a reason for missing out on a good time. And, do not settle for a night in because you think all your “warm clothes” aren’t cute enough to test the cold. Accept the challenge and STYLE EDIT!

The key to the cold is a great coat. Most likely, you have the option to keep it on all night because of the frigid weather conditions so choose well. Working at the office all day? Opt for a nice oxford flat if you are going out straight from work or go home and change into a chic monochromatic look with a pair of Nike’s.  Yes, Nike’s. They add the perfect amount of cool to an outfit if you pull them off right. Throw on a pair of glam earrings or a statement necklace to add that little touch of sparkle you need to complete the effortless look. If you are the type that cannot fathom going out without a heel, try throwing on a pair of boots with a smaller sturdy heel instead of a tall pump.
